Yard waste is banned from the landfill. Here's where to recycle your grass clippings and leaves!
The City of Beatrice Yard Waste Program is an annual program offered from April thru October. The annual sign-up for the Yard Waste Program begins in March. Customers can sign up throughout the spring and summer months; however, once a customer is signed up, they will remain on the service thru October 31st. Yard Waste will be picked up every Wednesday for the duration of the program. Customers wishing to sign up for the Yard Waste Program should contact the MARS billing office or you can sign up for the Yard Waste Program Online at https://www.beatrice.ne.gov/landfill/page/yard-waste-program-online-enrollment
$10.00 per month (billed on your BPW utility bill)
City Compost Site at
3426 West Locust Road, 2 miles South on Hwy 77 and 1 mile West. The City Compost Site is open April 1st thru November 30th, Monday thru Saturday, and is closed Sunday.
April - September: Monday - Saturday, 8:00 a.m. - 8:00 p.m.
October: Monday - Saturday, 8:00 a.m. - 7:00 p.m.
November: Monday - Saturday, 8:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m.
December - March: By appointment only, pending weather conditions

There is no charge to Gage County residents to load the available compost by themselves. A Landfill Operator can load the compost for you for a minimal charge. Operator loading hours are Monday - Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. only. Only cash is accepted, in the exact amount.
Yard waste (grass and leaves) may be dropped off at the Compost Site at no charge.
